We were very disappointed with our visit. The staff was unfriendly and unengaged—one staff member on the second floor was just standing on her phone. This experience was nothing like the original Chi…Full review by Trek53743298700

I'm trying to decide if we should go to the Children's museum on our weekend trip to New Orleans. My children are ages 7, 9 & 12. Is this geared for younger children? As a family of 6 I don't want want to spend $40+ for them to be 'bored'.

We had 2 7 year olds and a 4 year old and they loved it. I think even a 12 year old would have fun in the Swamp room and there is a craft room we didn't get it that might appeal to your 12 year old. Also the pulley and weight apparatus would be fine all ages. I agree that you shouldn't miss the aquarium. The Insectarium is also outstanding as is the Audubon Zoo and you can take the steamship Natchez to the Zoo or ride the Streetcar for added fun.
