Toad® for Oracle is the only Oracle database management software that helps you simplify your workflow, reduce code defects and improve code quality and performance while supporting team collaboration.
How do you move your existing Toad settings to the new computer? It is a great and exciting day. Your company has finally agreed to provide you with a new computer. Now comes the fun part, making sure all of the settings are correct and you have all of your programs from the old machine installed onto the new one.
Install and open Toad on the new computer. Select Utilities | Copy User Settings in the main Toad toolbar. Click then navigate to the copied folder. Note: You can also select Utilities | Copy User Settings, then select Create a clean set of user files from the base installation.
Use the Toad for Oracle Edition Installer to install Toad. When you start Toad, it retrieves your license entitlements and then guides you through installing any additional products included with your edition.
This lets you query data and view objects using Toad, but all actions that can impact the database (Create, Alter, Drop, Insert, Update, etc.) are disabled or hidden.
You can have Toad save all passwords automatically or individually save passwords for selected connections. Passwords are saved in an encrypted file named Connections.xml.
Remember that Toad offers a plethora of user options – some of which are very clearly security related – but most of which are set by the individual users. Therefore, Toad user education and training is paramount to success – with ongoing monitoring for compliance.
Toad World is a unique and valuable resource available to all Toad users. Toad World provides forums, blogs, videos, product information, Beta releases (when available), and Trial downloads for Toad products.
